Students of Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (NSIT), Delhi University, are ready for a week-long trip to Harvard University. The 16-member student team, which leaves this morning for their voyage, will be participating in the Harvard National Model United Nations (MUN) this year. The team will be visiting other universities besides Harvard such as Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

MUNs are a simulation of the actual working of the United Nations. Student-participants play the role of UN delegates and present viewpoints , suggestions on global issues. The MUN will have 3,000 students from around 30 countries participating. Each team has to opt for a country to represent a particular member nation of the UN, and work towards finding diplomatic solutions to some of the global issues.
The NSIT team will represent Afghanistan at the conference . The team has a mix of students from various streams across the four years, including computer science, electronics, IT, and instrumentation and control, among others. "It requires a lot of hard work and research to represent a country,"says Daksh Sharma, team member , first-year student.
